You are all familiar by now with President Trump’s exhortation of DRILL BABY DRILL. An equally important imperative should be to rejuvenate access to mines across the USA. Critical minerals are so named because they are critical for both development of new technologies , and for national security. The U.S. landscape has large deposits of critical minerals in California’s Mojave, in Wyoming, and yes in Greenland as well. Environmental restrictions, like those responsible for destroying our western forests, currently prevent access to these critical mineral deposits.

Please read Greg Walcher’s piece SHOVEL BABY SHOVEL. We do not need to be held hostage to China for critical minerals when we have a store house of our own. It is high time to open up our lands to mining. We have the technology and capability to restore our landscapes once mines are depleted.
