Neuse Riparian Buffer and Nutrient Umbrella Bank Functional Uplift
Wayne County
Wetlands: 52.86 AC
Arrington Bridge Mitigation Bank Phase I & II sites were each granted a conservation easement, recorded around the restoration areas within the overall bank parcel. Located within the Neuse River Basin (below Falls Lake), stormwater runoff from the site was draining into an unnamed tributary of the Neuse River, classified as Class C and Nutrient Sensitive Waters. The bank’s purpose is to improve water quality within the Neuse River watershed by restoring hardwood forest in riparian areas and along other conveyances. RES’ restoration activities include nearly 11 acres of riparian buffer restoration and 47 acres of nutrient offset. Credits derived from the Arrington Bridge sites provided mitigation for unavoidable impacts resulting from development activities.
