The Baca County Conservation District was organized under the Colorado Soil Conservation Act of 1937 (CRS 35-70-101 and following) as amended. The District was established by a referendum consolidating the Southern Baca, Two Buttes, and Western Baca Soil Conservation Districts. The Certificate of Organization was issued by the Colorado Secretary of State on June 5, 1982. The District is located in Baca County and covers 1,657,635 acres.

Acting in concert with local landowners to enhance conservation, wildlife, and water quality for the benefit of the local community.
