The Bat Conservancy of Coastal California (BCCC) was founded in 2011 with a mission focusing on public education about the many unique and varied species of bats.
 
The roots of BCCC can be traced back to the mid-1990s and the California Bat Conservation Fund (CBCF) founded by bat conservationist Patricia Winters, a respected pioneer with more than 40 years of experience in bat rehabilitation. CBCF was disbanded in 2010 following Patricia’s death, and BCCC was subsequently formed as a way to honor her legacy of promoting bat welfare and conservation.
 
BCCC is dedicated to conservation of bats through education. We strive to raise awareness to protect our California bats by protecting our environment.
 
BCCC collaborates with local wildlife rescue organizations in their efforts to rehabilitate with the intent to release bats back into the wild. If you find a bat, do not touch! Call a wildlife rescue organization in your area.
