Benchland Water Districts mission is to provide it customers with an adequate and reliable supply of quality water that meets customer needs at a reasonable costs. The district was created in 1969 when it was recognized that something needed to be done to correct the waste water and open ditch irrigation problems. The Mayor established a committee to get the open ditch stock irrigation companies to cooperate in instituting an underground pressurized irrigation system. An irrigation improvement district was established and then was converted to the Benchland Water District in 2006.
