Big Fork Creek Natural Area, Polk County, located in the Ouachita Mountains, is a small (13.58 acres) mesophytic tract containing an abundance of wildflowers and ferns, a free-flowing spring, and a small section of Big Fork Creek. The bluff and terrace near the spring support an excellent and very fragile plant community.
Hunting is prohibited on this natural area.
Directions
Take State Highway 8 West at Big Fork. Travel 0.25 mile, then turn right on Polk County Road 67. Go 0.3 mile and bear left at the fork. Travel 0.1 miles to the parking area on the north side of the county road.
