Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is a statewide educational agency and a member of the Texas A & M University System linked in a unique partnership with the nationwide United States Department of Agriculture’s Cooperative System and the Cameron County Commissioners Court.
Our Mission: To provide quality, relevant outreach and continuing education programs and services to the residents of Cameron County.
Extension brings the resources of the Texas A & M University system to Cameron County. Through field faculty, Extension provides unbiased information, educational programs, and technical assistance in the following core services areas: Agricultural and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H and Youth Development, and Coastal and Marine Resources. Extension values and promotes principles of citizen and community involvement, scientifically-based education, life long learning and volunteerism. It provides access to citizens in all counties and works cooperatively with the 10 Universities and 8 state agencies of the Texas A & M University System and other state local agencies to bring the necessary resources to Cameron County that will address local issues and solve local problems.
