The Casey Jones Wildlife Management Area is located in Drew and Ashley Counties in Southeast Arkansas. The land within the Casey Jones Wildlife Management Area is owned by The Campbell Group and The Plum Creek Timber Company and is managed for a variety of forest products. This is a working forest so please be aware of ongoing management and timber harvesting operations.
The boundaries of the Casey Jones Wildlife Management Area are typically marked by an 18-inch vertical painted yellow “blaze” along all major roads paralleling or entering the area. No interior boundary lines are marked.
Permits are required for all hunting, trapping, and camping activities and may be purchased from your local license dealers or ordered from: The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, License Division, # 2 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205 or by phone at 1-800-364-GAME or via internet at www.agfc.com.
The various tracts provide a diversity of habitats, including upland pine, upland pine/ hardwood mix, upland hardwood, bottomland pine/ hardwood mix and bottomland hardwood. Most of the tracts are managed intensively for pine and/or hardwood sawtimber.
The WMA offers excellent deer, turkey and small game hunting opportunities.
Designated campsites are located in various areas of the WMA. No electricity or running water is provided.
