The Cass Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) works in partnership with the Environmental Services Department and provides landowners technical services for:
- Wetland Conservation Act permits
- Erosion and sedimentation control plans
- Agricultural and weed inspection.
- Water quality monitoring
- Feedlot permitting and planning
- Shoreland alteration permits.
The SWCD administers a State cost-share program which assists landowners in installing conservation practices. The Federal Natural Resources Conservation Service is co-located with the SWCD, providing technical services for agricultural, shoreline, and wildlife projects. The SWCD is governed by an elected board of supervisors.
