Channel Islands - California Native Plant Society

The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) was founded in 1965  as a volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and celebration of California’s native flora. The organization has since grown to have over 25 paid staff at the state office and 35 chapters throughout the state. CNPS plays a critical role in plant conservation and and is a leading voice in plant science and native plant appreciation.

The Channel Islands Chapter (CNPSCI) represents Ventura County and eastern Santa Barbara County (including the Channel Islands) in the protection and appreciation of our native flora.  The chapters goal is to conserve California native plants and their natural habitats,
and increase understanding, appreciation, and horticultural use of native plants.

Membership is open to anyone who appreciates native plants. Both members and non-members are welcome to join us in activities such as monthly meetings, rare plant surveys, restoration workdays, and most field trips. Sign up here to get on our email list.
