Clinch Valley Community Action, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation that began as Tazewell County Development Corporation in 1965. A Board of Directors composed of representatives of the community administers the agency. All members of the board serve without pay because of their concern for the community.
Doug Sheets serves as the Executive Director in charge of the daily operations of the agency. Programs operated through CVCA include, Headstart, Family Crises Services, Kid’s Place, Clinch Valley Works, Project Discovery, Community Corrections Program, Community Sentencing, Weatherization, Virginia Water Projects, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Senior Companion Programs and Special Programs.
