The Clinton County Soil & Water Conservation District was created on December 1, 1949 by the Clinton County Board of Supervisors, by authority of the New York State Soil and Water Conservation District Law (Part 52b of McKinney’s Consolidated Laws of NY). The District is a legal subdivision of state government, formed as a special district as per NYS law. The District is administered and controlled locally by a Board of Directors appointed by the Clinton County Board of Legislators. The District is not a regulatory body and has no statutory regulatory authority. It is primarily a technical assistance and conservation project development organization.
Mission
to protect and improve the lakes, rivers, streams, soils and other natural resources of Clinton County through locally-led conservation projects and programs.
