Welcome to Cottle County!! Paducah is the County Seat with population of 1,757. Chiefly agribusiness. Major income from cotton, grains, alfalfa; cow-calf operations, stocker cattle, horses raised; some irrigation. Old Settlers reunion in April, hunting; Matador Wildlife Management Area.
Cottle County was created in 1876 from Fannin County; organized in 1892 and named for George W. Cottle, Alamo hero.
Physical Features; Rough in west, level in east; gray, black, sandy and loam soils; drains to Pease River.
