Comments: The mitigation project involves in-stream channel restoration, as well as riparian restoration and enhancement activities on approximately 31 acres of privately-owned property. The project site contains an unnamed tributary to the Meramec River. The in-stream work includes the restoration of functional stream channel within and between two existing ponds; and the relocation of a portion of historically channelized/relocated tributary back to its original channel. The riparian restoration activities consist of the establishment of a 100-ft. forested corridor along both banks of the restored channel, and enhancement of the existing forested corridor along the downstream preserved channel. Outside of the forested corridor restoration/enhancement areas, the riparian corridor will be established in warm-season grasses and forbs. The site currently exists as pasture, and exhibits significant stream degradation from livestock. As determined using the Missouri Stream Mitigation Method, the proposed project will generate 15,227 credits.
