Dr. David Loy Cardwell grew up in Texas in the small town of Pleasanton where his dad had a veterinary practice. Helping his dad in the 1960-70s instilled a love for the practice of veterinary medicine and he decided to follow in his dad’s footsteps. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. After practicing for 9 years in Corpus Christi, he moved to Kerrville and bought Kerrville Veterinary Clinic. Even after 30 years, he still finds something new and rewarding each day in the practice/art of vet medicine. Since graduating, he has always worked in a mixed practice where “All creatures great and small” are welcome. In his time off, he is usually checking on cows and other creatures at his family ranch near Junction which has been in his family for more than 100 years. His dad grew up there and Dr. Cardwell has deep roots there as well.
