David M. Wooldridge is a shareholder in Dentons Sirote’s Birmingham, Alabama office, where he is a member of the Tax practice group. With his extensive knowledge of subjects related to tax practice and procedure, David's practice is highly focused on tax litigation and tax controversy cases, involving both the IRS and the Department of Revenue. He has emphasized defending conservation easements, including the landmark Kiva Dunes case in United States Tax Court and the recent 11th Circuit Court of Appeals victory in Pine Mountain Preserve. Over the past 43 years, David’s practice has included tax planning, state and local tax issues, family succession and business planning, shareholder oppression, and director and fiduciary liability issues. In addition, David taught on tax practice and procedure at the University of Alabama School of Accounting (Master of Tax Accounting) and School of Law (LLM in Taxation) for nearly 28 years.
