The primary function of the District is to assist land users and others who participate in making land use decisions in resource conservation activities. This takes the form of encouraging proper use and treatment of renewable, natural resources and making available necessary technical and material assistance. This is possible through a close partnership with the NRCS. In Daviess County, as in many places, the Conservation District and NRCS share the same office, personnel, equipment, and supplies to deliver a strong, local conservation program.
