The goal of this 190.95-acre Nutrient Bank located in Buckingham County, Virginia is to reduce nutrient (phosphorus) and sediment loading into the Chesapeake Bay watershed via the conversion of active agricultural land into forest; and generate nonpoint nutrient credits for transfer under existing and future federal, state and local law, programs, regulations and guidance, including the DEQ Guidance. This bank consists mostly of fallow pastureland with areas of forest. This bank site is located within the twelve-digit hydrologic unit codes (HUC) 020802031304 (Walton Fork-Ripley Creek) and eight-digit HUC 02080203 (Middle James-Buffalo).
