Born and raised in the Kansas City area, Dr. Emily Gaugh (pronounced “Goff”) attended Kansas State University and received her undergraduate degree in biology and a minor in animal science. She continued her education at K-State School of Veterinary Medicine to obtain her DVM and also a Master’s in Public Health, emphasizing infectious disease and zoonosis. She was awarded the excellence in Public Health Award and the Professional Leadership Award in recognition of her leadership, exceptional vision, work ethic, and professionalism as a student her clinical year of veterinary school.
Dr. Gaugh completed research on Avian Influenza at the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa as a part of her master’s field project. Her special interests include soft tissue surgery and urgent care. She is a member of the AVMA, TVMA, AAHA, Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, and is a board member for the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association.
