Foard County Agriculture Extension Work began on November 1, 1911 when Francis J. Craddock was appointed as the first county agriculture agent. A total of 12 county agriculture agents have served Foard County. The current county agriculture extension agent for Foard County is Seth Manney. Home Demonstration work began in Foard County in November 11th, 1920 with county approval to hire Miss Flora Goodwin as the first county home demonstration agent. There have been several home demonstration agents that have served Foard County throughout the years. The position has since been re-titled to Family and Consumer Science Agent. Presently, Foard County is a single extension agent county employing only an Agriculture/Natural Resources Agent, Seth Manney. The Foard County Extension Office is located in the basement of the courthouse where Seth has responsibilities in aiding agricultural producers, working with the local communities, and providing supervision over the 4-H Program in Foard County.
