FCWP provides weed and pest management services to the residents of Fremont County, Wyoming, by applying integrated pest management practices that consider the environment, the economy and the well-being of our resources.
FCWP is a county weed and pest control district in west-central Wyoming that provides quality vegetation management services on county, state and federal public lands and rights-of-way, charging market rates for herbicides and labor. FCWP also treats tribal lands and some private properties for designated and declared species of noxious weeds. In addition to chemical applications, the district utilizes mechanical, biological and cultural controls to reduce the spread of terrestrial invasive species. This integrated approach helps to protect wildlife habitat, support agricultural resources and benefit landowners.
FCWP is one of 23 county weed and pest districts that are members of the Wyoming Weed and Pest Council, an entity that was created with the enaction of the Wyoming Weed and Pest Control Act, Chapter 5 (11-5-101) in 1973. FCWP is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seven community members that are appointed by the Fremont County Commission. The board members serve four-year terms.
