The Hall County Master Gardener Extension volunteers help University of Georgia Cooperative Extension staff convey research-based information about gardening, horticulture and best practices to the public. We are trained volunteers who gave over 15,000 hours of our time in 2017.
We sponsor public events like our Spring and Fall Garden Expos, biennial Garden Walk, and our Ask a Master Gardener Booth at community events. We answer your questions through the Extension Greenline or via e-mail. Our motto is “Beautification through Education.”
We participate in teaching and community gardens at Gardens on Green at the Hall County Board of Education, the Northeast Georgia History Center Victory Garden, Wilshire Park, Hall County Extension Office, Elachee Nature Center, and Jubilee. We work with the next generation of gardeners through the Youth Gardening Program at various schools. We educate new Habitat homeowners about their lawns and gardens. Many volunteer at Atlanta Botanical Garden Gainesville and Linwood Nature Preserve.
