Hankins, Inc. is a privately held, family-owned lumber operation located just east of Ripley, Mississippi. The company manufactures, dries, and dresses Southern Yellow Pine lumber that is sold across the United States. Throughout our business, we stress the core values of quality, integrity, and safety. We strive to provide a superior product, without any compromises to our beliefs or to the safety of our employees.
Hankins, Inc. was founded in 1988, when Harold, David, and J.D. Hankins purchased a small, green sawmill just east of Ripley, MS. The following year saw the installation of a dry kiln. In 1993, the company embarked on a seven-year plan to modernize the entire production line, including the construction of state-of-the-art sawmill, sorter, and planer facilities. A second dry kiln was installed in 2000. Now, the mill has a production capacity of over 95 million board feet/year - nearly six times our first year's production.
In 2009, Hankins, Inc. solidified its commitment to the future of our forests by receiving certification from the Sustainable Forest Initiative. When you purchase lumber from Hankins, Inc., you can have confidence that our products are cut from timber that has been well-managed.
