The Hillsboro Farmers Market, established on the Hill County Courthouse square in spring 2014, is way more than just a place to buy veggies. Local farmers sell locally-grown produce and other locally-produced items. There is always plenty of other stuff to pick from. There are local honey, homemade soaps, homemade bread, and lots of other cool items. You can also find peaches, watermelons, a wide array of fresh vegetables and fruits, pecans, grass-fed beef, local cheese, baked goods and artisan items from their farms or ranches. Also, there are often food trucks, and special activities are planned on the first Saturday of every month. For interested vendors, you may apply through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office in Hillsboro. You may also follow the Hillsboro Farmers Market on Facebook.
