Working closely with the family pets and livestock gave him a keen interest and understanding of animal care and husbandry. He did his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University, graduating from the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Sharp's first job was at a mixed animal practice in Witchita Falls, Texas. He worked there for a year before moving to the Plano area, where he found his niche in small animal medicine and surgery. As the longest continuously practicing veterinarian in Plano, Dr. Sharp has seen generations of clients come and go over the years. They keep coming because his highest priority is to provide excellent personalized care to all of his clients and patients. He enjoys developing these long-term relationships with his clients. On any given day, we may overhear him catching up on the latest news about their kids, and even grandkids (who are often also AMCOP clients). The clients also keep coming because of his emphasis on continuing education, and excellence in veterinary care. Dr. Sharp has a never-ending thirst for learning, manifested by his continual membership in the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice. This organization has strict requirements to ensure that member veterinarians stay up to date on discoveries and new ideas in veterinary medicine. He also continues to maintain our high hospital quality standards through our ongoing status as an American Animal Hospital Association certified practice. Clinically speaking, Dr. Sharp enjoys all aspects of general practice. He has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
