Jason Walley was practically a forester since birth. His grandfather owned his own consulting business, so Walley was always out in the woods helping. I learned so much with him, Walley said. I remember watching him doing prescribed burns, land clearing, and wildlife food plot planning.
After graduating from Mississippi State University with a degree in forest management, it was a no brainer for Walley to join his grandfathers business, which he officially took over in 2014. While located in Chunchula, Walley travels all over the nearby counties to take care of his client base, which includes corporations and private landowners alike. Some of his most common aspects of land management are herbicide applications, planning of wildlife areas, and clearing of land. He also performs many site preparations and prescribed burnings as well. I love meeting different people and having our work so diversified, Walley said. Theres no monotony in what I do. I love getting up every day to do something different. Every day is a different challenge.
