Mr. Cohen devotes his practice to all aspects of tax, estate planning, and the related administration of estates. Mr. Cohen assists clients with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, lifetime gifting plans, charitable trusts, life insurance trusts, and other tax favored planning opportunities. He acts as an advocate and counselor in probate, guardianship, conservatorship, and elder law matters. He has handled audits, appeals and negotiations with state and federal taxing authorities. He enjoys advising clients in the creation and growth of closely held businesses as well as public and private charitable organizations
and foundations.

Prior to joining Burns, Figa & Will, P.C. in 2006, he practiced at the law firm of Cage Williams, P.C. from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Cohen practiced at the Denver law firm of Fairfield and Woods, P.C. from 1998 to 2003, and had previously successfully established and operated his own solo practice from 1993 to 1998. Mr. Cohen has lectured on estate and income tax topics to various groups, including the ABA Probate and Property Section, the Taxation and Probate Sections of the Colorado Bar Association, the Centennial Estate Planning Counsel, the Kansas State University Agricultural Extension Program, and Colorado Free University.
Mr. Cohen is admitted to practice in the States of Colorado, 1986 and Nebraska, 1990, the U.S. Court of Appeals 10th Circuit and the U.S. Tax Court.
