JOHN FOPPERT lives with his wife and three children on their farm in Saranac, New York. In addition to consulting forestry, he has worked in logging, wildland firefighting, research, teaching, State and National Parks, woodworking, carpentry, and agriculture. He has a BSc in forestry from Paul Smith’s College, dual-masters in forest science and European forestry from the University of Freiburg (Germany) and the University of Eastern Finland, a PGDip in entrepreneurship from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Technical University of Munich's Institute of Forest Economics. He is an SAF Certified Forester, a Vermont Licensed Forester and an ATFS Qualified Inspector. John is also a youth sports coach in the Town of Saranac and has held leadership positions in the Saranac Lake Quaker Meeting.
