Jay is President of Mitchell Forestry and Wildlife Services, Inc. He has worked in the forestry and wildlife profession since August 1998.
Jay graduated from Mississippi State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Husbandry.
In 1998, realizing the rapid growth of Mitchell Forestry Consulting, Jay came to work with his dad. In order to more effectively assist landowners in successfully accomplishing their forestry and wildlife goals, Jay began in 2004 to work in earnest toward a second degree in forestry and wildlife management.
Jay graduated in May 2006 from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management.
Jay actively manages a number of client properties for the enhancement and long-term sustainability of the forest and wildlife resources. He is a Registered Forester, a Wildlife Biologist, and real estate sales agent in Mississippi, a Member of the Association of Consulting Foresters, a certified Tree Farm Inspector, a NRCS Technical Service Provider (TSP) in MS, TN, and AL, and a Certified Quality Vegetation Management Advisor.
Other memberships include The Wildlife Society, the Quality Deer Management Association, the Mississippi Forestry Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
