We are a small business located in central Massachusetts that specializes in forestry services, conservation restrictions, land stewardship and GIS solutions. Our founder is Joe Smith. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Umass Amherst and 44 years of field experience. He has worked as a Peace Corp Volunteer in Micronesia, with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Hoopa Valley Reservation, as the Northern Worcester County Service Forester for MA DEM (now DCR), as the Director of the Forest and Wood Products Institute at Mount Wachusett Community College, as the Director of Industry Services for the Trust to Conserve Northeast Forestlands, and since 2010, as a private consultant. He formed Woodsman Inc in 2018.
