Comments: The Bailey Branch Stream and Wetland Restoration Project is located in Monroe County (36.6759?N, -85.5647?W) within the Lower Cumberland Service Area. KDFWR plans to purchase ~1200 acres which would encompass the entire Bailey Branch watershed and roughly 1 mile of Cumberland River frontage. Bailey Branch is a direct tributary to the Cumberland River. KDFWR will permanently protect the property with deed restrictions approved by the USACE. The project involves roughly 52,403 feet of ephemeral stream, 16,357 feet of intermittent stream, and 10,400 feet of perennial stream. There are also two small wetlands onsite (roughly 1.7 acres and 0.2 acres). Mitigation will be in-kind and compensation will consist of preservation, enhancement, rehabilitation, and re-establishment. This project is estimated to generate roughly 42,183 AMU stream credits and 1 wetland credit.
