The Kalkaska Conservation District was founded in 1950 to provide local leadership for Federal, State, and local conservation initiatives. The District is led by a five member, locally elected board of directors. We provide leadership in natural resource management throughout Kalkaska County, deliver conservation assistance and information to residents and visitors, and ensure quality implementation of conservation practices. Natural resources are Kalkaska County’s greatest asset. We envision a thriving Kalkaska where agriculture, forestry and recreation are integral to the local economy and high quality of life. Our success is built on positive relationships with State and local units of government, businesses, individuals, and other conservation organizations. You can help by participating in conservation activities, volunteering, and/or donating to support our work.
