The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program that provides financial and technical assistance to farmers and ranchers who face threats to soil, water, air, and related natural resources on their land. Through EQIP, the NRCS provides financial assistance to producers to promote agricultural production and environmental quality as compatible goals and help farmers and ranchers meet Federal, State, Tribal, and local environmental regulations.
EQIP applications are accepted on a continuous basis, however, NRCS establishes application "cut-off" or submission deadline dates for evaluation, ranking, and approval of eligible applications. EQIP is open to all eligible agricultural producers and has multiple funding pools available.
