The Carville Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Charles Carville in 1990. Dr. Carville received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy (West Point) in 1973 and served in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer and Airborne Ranger for 7 years. He returned to his hometown of Plaquemine to pursue his second career in veterinary medicine, graduating from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1973 and opening his practice in 1990. Dr. Carville has 30 years of veterinary experience. He and his wife, Donna, are the parents of four children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Katie C. Berthelot is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Carville and graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, exactly 20 years after her father. Dr. Berthelot has 10 years of veterinary experience. Dr. Berthelot and her husband, Ty Berthelot, reside in Plaquemine with their three young sons.
