The District’s mission is to develop and implement an efficient, economical and environmentally sound groundwater management program to protect and enhance the groundwater resources of the District.

The Kenedy County Groundwater Conservation District works with landowners, oil and gas productions, agriculture and livestock users, developers, and the state to help protect and nurture our precious water resource. We have the duty to provide for the conservation, preservation, protection, recharging, and prevention of waste of groundwater, and to control subsidence. Our district comprises of Kenedy County with interests in neighboring Brooks, Hidalgo, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Nueces, and Willacy counties.
