L. Stuart List, a shareholder in the firm, is a member of the firm's estate planning, probate and trust administration group. Mr. List's practice focuses on estate planning and post-death administration for complex estates and trusts to minimize estate, gift, generation-skipping, income and property taxes. Mr. List has extensive experience in preparing revocable and irrevocable trusts, including life insurance trusts, dynasty or generation-skipping trusts, charitable trusts, QPRTs, GRATs and other grantor trusts. Mr. List advises clients in connection with succession planning for business and nonbusiness assets to transfer wealth from one generation to the next in a tax efficient manner taking into consideration the clients' goals and family dynamics. Mr. List prepares estate and gift tax returns, and represents clients in estate and gift tax audits. Mr. List also prepares premarital and other property agreements. Mr. List is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, and is licensed as a California certified public accountant (currently inactive). He has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer every year since 2005, and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
