The Laguna Laurel Ecological Reserve is a 76 acre property. Habitat types include Laguna lakes, freshwater marshes, and streams with their associated riparian habitat; coastal sage scrub; coastal scrub oak chaparral; and oak woodlands. Resident mammals and raptors inhabit the area.
The purpose for the acquisition was endangered/protected species habitat protection. The property was designated as an ecological reserve by the Fish and Game Commission in 1994.
