Dr. Leia Hunter began practicing at Towne South Animal Hospital in October of 2011. She graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in Baton Rouge in May of 2010, finishing in the top 3 of her graduating class. After receiving her veterinary license, Dr. Hunter completed a one-year medicine and surgery internship at The Ohio State University. Dr. Hunter is originally from Bogalusa, Louisiana and met her husband while attending undergraduate school at LSU in Baton Rouge. Her personal interests include spending time with her two children, reading Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels, and watching LSU and Saints football. Her veterinary interests include surgery, neurology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. In January 2017, Dr. Leia Hunter became the Towne South Team’s Medical Director.
