The Louisiana Land Trust (LLT) is a nonprofit organization initially formed to manage the properties that have been purchased by the State of Louisiana under the Road Home Program as part of the ongoing recovery effort from the damage caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. LLT is currently implementing three disaster recovery projects for the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery Unit. The Solution 4 buyout portion of the Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program will mitigate damages caused by the Severe Storms of 2016 and prevent future development in floodways throughout the state. The Pecan Acres Resettlement Project will provide for the construction of a new community for repetitive flood victims in Pointe Coupee Parish, in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Restore Louisiana Program. The Isle de Jean Charles Resettlement Project, funded by a HUD National Disaster Resilience Competition grant award, will provide for the construction of a new community for residents of Isle de Jean Charles in Terrebonne Parish.
