The Macon County Conservation Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of natural and cultural resources and educational opportunities for the people of Macon County. Its purpose is to: preserve and maintain wild lands, open spaces and other natural or scenic resources within Macon County; preserve and protect native plants and animals, geological features, historical sites and other areas of educational and scientific interest; and support the preservation and educational purposes by raising funds through campaigns, bequests, planned gifts, memorials, and annual giving.
The Macon County Conservation Foundation, originally the Natural Heritage and Wildlife Foundation, was founded in 1981 as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent of the law.
