Every summer, 130 girls, 30 junior staff members, and 65 staff members come together to create our happy place for ten days in the Maine woods. We build a community based on trust, self-reliance, seeing the good, and passing it forward.

Our campers and many of our junior staff and staff members come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. At Main Idea, we focus on the dual goals of creating a joy-filled and carefree home-away-from-home while also helping girls develop the self-awareness and self-reliance they need to succeed in the world.
