Mark has been an a leader in the "Green Building" movement for more than 35 years. He has been a featured speaker on building green at several local and national conventions and seminars, including CRES's International Renewable Energy Conference, the National Home Builders Association's Custom Home Builder Symposium and the AIA's local, regional and national Conventions. Mark was an original member of the now dissolved "Built-Green Colorado" organization helping push visibility for more sustainable design and energy efficient homes. Some of his homes achieve that programs highest ratings. He has written about sustainable design in numerous and diverse publications as well as having been featured for his work in sustainability in many others, also being featured on HGTV for building green. Most recently Brian and Mark's design of a LEED Gold custom home in Colorado's Phantom Canyon Ranch Nature Conservancy has garnered local and national awards for its innovative and sustainable design. Mark received his B.S. in Art History from the University of Wyoming in 1973. After working with a distinguished Interior Design firm on the East Coast for a few years he went on to receive his Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota in 1980.
