Mark S. Cochran began working with the law firm in November of 2000. Prior to entering private practice, Mark enjoyed a twenty year career at Central Illinois Public Service Company where he had management responsibilities over the environmental, fuel and power generation departments.
Since leaving the utility company, Mark has managed a comprehensive, long-term study of Lake Springfield and the impacts of farming practices on the Lake's water quality. Mark has also worked closely with local Soil and Water Conservation districts and the State of Illinois on various conservation programs.
Mark’s areas of interest include real estate, estate planning and administration, environmental compliance, government farm programs, electric and gas utility regulation and conservation easements.
Mark received his J.D. cum laude, from Indiana University and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1977 and the Illinois Bar in 1979. He also has a degree in environmental engineering from Purdue University, where he was a member Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honorary.
