As a Procurement Forester, I procure standing timber through forestry consultants and through direct contact with forest landowners. In addition to buying standing timber, I oversee all logging operations within the company and facilitate tree planting, write forest management plans, and provide professional advice to landowners regarding the management of their timberland.
I am not a Consulting Forester, however most of the timber that I procure and harvest is facilitated by Consulting Foresters.

Bachelor of Science in Forest Management-2011

Experience:
My first 18 months after graduating from North Carolina State University I worked for Gelbert, Fullbright and Randolph Forestry Consutlants as a Field Forester. During that time I learned how to inventory timberlands, write forest management plans, timber sale layout and administration, prescribed burning, and marking property lines.
After my stint as a Field Forester, I accepted a position at Carolina Forest Products, Inc. as a Procurement Forester. Currently, my role is procure standing timber from public and private landowners through sealed bid invitations from forestry consultants as well as direct contact with forest landowners.

During my time as a Procurement Forester, I had the opportunity to procure timber from a family that I knew on a personal basis. They called me to give them an offer to buy their timber. I placed a bid on the timber and I had the highest bid. They knew me and trusted me and my company to conduct a professional logging operation on their property and it was a success.
