The mission of the Menard County Underground Water District is to develop, promote and implement water conservation and management strategies to

• conserve, preserve, and protect the surface and groundwater supplies of the District,
• protect and enhance recharge, 
• prevent waste and pollution,
• effect efficient use of groundwater within the District and
• to protect the landowners of water rights within the District from impairment of their groundwater quality and quantity.
