Michael Tyler Travis graduated from Alabama Southern Community College in Monroeville, Alabama in 2001 earning an associates degree in Forest Technology.
Tyler then graduated in 2008 from Auburn University’s School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences with a BS degree in Forestry. Tyler is a Registered Forester in Alabama and is currently pursuing other professional designations.
Tyler attended and completed NWCG Wildland Fire training and is qualified as a Wildland Firefighter II.
Tyler is a Certified Burn Manager in Alabama and Mississippi, and an active member of the Alabama Prescribed Fire Council.
Tyler is passionate about the many wildlife benefits that come from sound forest management practices. Tyler spends much of his spare time in habitat improvement projects for deer and turkey on his family’s longleaf pine forest in Washington County, Alabama.
Tyler has been awarded the Deer Steward II designation from the Quality Deer Management Association and has worked diligently to support many other conservation organizations such as the NWTF.
Tyler has studied timberland investments and economics and is pursuing his real estate salesperson license so that he may actively participate in timberland sales and acquisitions.
Tyler is interested in timberland investments, management of investment grade timberland, longleaf pine and bottomland hardwood systems. Tyler shares a management philosophy that integrates forest economics with site productivity to enhance timberland investment performance, while helping our clients develop productive, healthy forests that benefit society, wildlife and forested eco-systems.
