The Mid-Atlantic Karst Conservancy was formed in November of 1997 by eleven cavers pitching in $10 each to start a non-profit corporation, based in western Pennsylvania. We now own two preserves and we manage more acres of caves and karstlands than any conservancy in the United States (more than 5,000).
Our mission is the same as it was when we formed:
The study, conservation, and preservation of caves and karst resources and the education of the public about those resources.
