Montgomery Friends of Open Space (MFOS) is a nonprofit all-volunteer organization formed in March 2002. Our main goals are to preserve remaining open land in Montgomery Township, to act as stewards for the properties already preserved, and to run a farmers' market to support local agriculture. Our township’s population has doubled in the past 15 years. By working hard to protect the remaining open land, we hope to achieve a better balance between growth and preservation.
MFOS runs a farmers’ market every Saturday from June through October of each year from 9 am to 1 pm. By offering fresh, locally grown produce, poultry, organic vegetables, herbs, flowers, salsa, fresh bread, and more, MFOS is supporting local farmers and New Jersey agriculture. The farmers market is located at the Village Shopper parking area. 1340 Rt. 206 Skillman, NJ (South side in the same shopping centre as Village Shoes and Technician X, directly across from Montgomery Cinema and Shop-Rite).
