Stewardship Natural Area grants compliment the State Natural Areas (SNA) Program, which are dedicated to the preservation of Wisconsin's native landscapes. Lands purchased with Natural Area funds must be within an existing SNA boundary or meet the criteria for inclusion in the SNA program. This grant program is part of the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program.
Nonprofit conservation organizations (NCOs) may apply for funding from eight Stewardship grant subprograms to help fund the acquisition of land and conservation easements.
