The Neshoba County Cooperative was founded in 1934 as a Farmer Owned Organization by a group of farmers interested in volume purchasing. Agriculture, from the time the Co-Op was founded to the late 1970’s, was involved in the production of soybeans, cotton, corn and other row crops, with a growing number of beef cattle and dairy farms. In the 1980’s agriculture saw a change which was also seen in our area. With a decline in row crops we saw a change to hay lands, grazing areas, and timber. The cooperative also made changes, we are more than just a feed, seed and fertilizer store, although that will always remain our basis business.
The Co-Op has expanded to include products for the outdoorsman, with a large variety of hunting supplies and clothing. Brands such as Carhartt, Drake, Under Amour, LaCrosse, Georgia and Rocky. We also have three large nurseries with many varieties of plants.
